Magazines reside in a special space- not quite as disposable as newspapers and not quite as precious as a book. This course will explore ways to visualize journalism in the format of a magazine. As a class we will work together to produce a print magazine that will include feature articles, photo essays, infographics and smaller sections. The second part of the semester we will look at how to engage magazine audiences online. This course will allow students to allow students to showcase their visual skills as well as production skills using various multimedia tools. We’ll tap into our creativity and create thoughtful visual journalism.
