Different societies have long and complex histories and developments and interestingly, queerness has figured in it. How do we weave intersections and queer transnationalism in the histories and discourses of select ‘global’ cities? This course looks into how genders and sexualities, evolved in time and space, in histories and cultures by looking into art, practices, cross-media and performances. How is art, media, classical and pop culture responsible in shaping and in some sense, marginalizing queer realities over the years. How do we perform queerness and why do we deny there’s always something queer around us?
