This course focuses on nursing care of women and infants.  It aims to provide students with opportunities, through exploring common health issues and problems in the lifestyle of women including reproduction, to apply acquired scientific knowledge to the art of nursing practice in caring for women and infants.  Within the context of fostering students’ analytical ability in clinical judgement, theoretical content related to nursing management of women before, during and after childbirth are addressed.  Common disorders of infants are discussed along with relevant nursing interventions throughout each developmental stage of infants.
